Mevlut Cavusoglu: Turkiye will work with regional countries as part of Shusha declaration

"Mr. President, the preparation and signing of the Shusha Declaration was your idea. We worked on this declaration together with my Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov. You and President Erdogan signed it about nine months ago. The parliaments of both countries ratified this document," Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on March 5 as he was received by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Cavusoglu, the Shusha Declaration was another confirmation that Azerbaijan and Turkiye are 'one nation - two states.'

"Concrete steps must be taken to implement the Shusha Declaration. As noted, strengthening ties will bring peace and prosperity not only to the two countries but will serve stability, peace, and the interests of the international community, led by the countries of the region. Therefore, we will work with these countries in trilateral, quadrilateral formats on the Shusha Declaration. Naturally, important processes are taking place in our region. Here you are implementing important projects, including the Zangazur corridor. Today I came to Baku to report on the work we have done on all these issues and jointly decide what steps should be taken in the future," Cavusoglu said.
