Baku. 17 October. REPORT.AZ/ "In Aktau, a huge progress was achieved after more than 25 years of negotiations," Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov said.
Report informs citing Euractiv that the minister gave an interview to Euractiv.
He noted that it was not easy to achieve success.
"It was not easy, because of the different positions of the five littoral states. But we managed to find out a consensus language, and I agree with you, this can open a huge opportunity for cooperation, not only between the littoral states but for having more cargo across the Caspian Sea."
Notably, the leaders of Caspian littoral states signed the Convention of the status of the Caspian Sea at the Fifth Summit of Heads of States of Caspital Littoral Countries held in Kazakhstan's Aktau on August 12.
