"It was with pleasure that I learned from Heydar Aliyev political wisdom, restraint, and truly strategic thinking," reads a congratulatory letter by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, Report informs.
“I know his words, spoken a quarter of a century ago: ‘Azerbaijan is my heart. Azerbaijan is my breath. Azerbaijan is my life.’ I am convinced that such a patriot, whose meaning of life was to serve the country, will always be remembered. I had the opportunity to personally know the respected Heydar Aliyev - a unique person, a great politician, the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state. It was with pleasure that I learned from Heydar Aliyev political wisdom, restraint, and truly strategic thinking,” reads the letter.
Lukashenko stressed that Belarus pays tribute to the memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, “who stood at the origins of the formation of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation between Minsk and Baku.” Alexander Lukashenko also noted the symbolism of the fact that in 2023, declared the Year of Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is worthily celebrated.
