Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is due to attend the 26th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers in Bratislava on December 5-6, Report informs citing Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova who spoke at a briefing.
"During the meeting in Bratislava, the Russian side will focus on the problem of fragmentation in the Euro-Atlantic space, the growth of tension due to the confrontational course of NATO on the so - called containment of Russia and the strengthening of military infrastructure near our borders," Zakharova said.
According to her, along with this, the Russian delegation will support the re-affirmation of the principle of indivisibility of security and the role of the OSCE as a platform for dialogue and equal interaction of the participating states and their associations.
"It is expected that the Russian delegation will express support for the OSCE's efforts in promoting the settlement of conflicts, including in Eastern Ukraine, Transnistria, Nagorno - Karabakh, and its co-chairmanship in the Geneva discussions on stability in the South Caucasus, work in the Balkans," Zakharova said.
