Lavrov: Russia assisting normalization of Yerevan-Baku relations

Russia renders all possible assistance to the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, Report informs referring to Russian media.

He noted that negotiations in this direction continue, and “they set the dynamics of contacts and determine the content of the future peace treaty.”

“Russia, which has relations of strategic partnership and alliance with both Azerbaijan and Armenia, renders all possible assistance to this process - in the form and volumes in which our Azerbaijani and Armenian friends are interested,” Lavrov stressed.

A meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia was planned in Moscow on December 23 to discuss the issues of preparing a peace treaty. However, Yerevan refused to attend. Therefore, the negotiations were held in a bilateral format, between Azerbaijani and Russian foreign ministers - Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergey Lavrov.
