Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the Natsionalnaya Oborona magazine Igor Korotchenko congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the upcoming jubilee and spoke about his role in the development of modern Azerbaijan.
"On behalf of the Russian expert community and on behalf of the editorial board of the Natsionalnaya Oborona magazine, I would like to congratulate Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the upcoming jubilee. Ilham Aliyev today has the status of great politicians in the world, he won the Karabakh war and restored the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," the expert said at the roundtable discussion on the result of the year in Russian-Azerbaijani relations.
Korotchenko also highlighted the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who "led Azerbaijan out of the crisis, and saved the country from chaos," adding that "his worthy son, Ilham Aliyev, has built a prosperous country in all spheres over the years of his rule."
"Ilham Aliyev built an effective economy, new energy projects were implemented ... Today Azerbaijan is the guarantor of the economic security of the European Union," Korotchenko said.
According to him, the 44-day war also demonstrated the full power and professionalism of the Azerbaijani army, and the operation to liberate Shusha will go down in world military history.
"Azerbaijan determines the course of the most important political processes. Russia is glad about Azerbaijan's successes, and Azerbaijan is our main strategic partner," the expert said.
