- What can you say about the Agreement on the construction of Khudaferin and Maiden Tower hydroelectric power plants over the Araz River?
- The Agreement on cooperation between the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the continuation of the construction and exploitation of Khudaferin and Maiden Tower hydroelectric power plants over the Araz River was signed on February 23, 2015. The Agreement is based on the principles of respect to sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries. The Agreement includes the significance of the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity in accordance with the UN resolutions.
- What can you say about the issues on the fulfillment of the Agreement released by media?
- Construction of bridges, which were reported by the media, should be accepted within the implementation of projects of Khudaferin and Maiden Tower hydroelectric power plants in accordance with the Agreement. As the Iranian side said, it accepts the part of bridges, which are in Azerbaijan’s territories, as Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. This is reflected in the Agreement ratified by the parliaments of both countries.
