Kamran Aliyev: 'Uzbekistan’s school construction in Fuzuli - testament to our brotherhood'

On September 29, Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with Sherzod Tukhtaboyev, Deputy Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) held in Baku, Report informs via AzerTac.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, Aliyev emphasized that the historically rooted relationships between our nations have successfully developed across political, economic, cultural, and other sectors. He specifically highlighted that significant strategic projects realized through the political will of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have further strengthened ties between the two countries and served the well-being of the peoples.

He noted that the construction and inauguration of the school named after Mirzo Ulugbek by Uzbekistan in the liberated city of Fuzuli, along with Uzbekistan’s active involvement in the reconstruction of Karabakh, are clear demonstrations of the brotherly relations between the two nations.

Aliyev also pointed out the active cooperation between the two countries on the international stage, particularly within influential organizations such as the UN, the Economic Cooperation Organizatio, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the Organization of Turkic States (TSO).

Discussing the extensive reforms underway in Azerbaijan’s prosecution system, Aliyev highlighted the role of the prosecution in combating crime and the importance of international cooperation in this field. He stressed the significance of experience exchange and bilateral visits among prosecution staff.

Kamran Aliyev underscored the historical importance of hosting COP29, the 29th Annual Conference of the IAP, and the General Assembly in Azerbaijan, noting that these international events provide a favorable platform for the comprehensive development of intergovernmental relations.

He later invited his Uzbek counterpart, Nigmatulla Yuldashev, to the High-Level Plenary Session on "Mobilizing Law Enforcement in the Fight Against Climate Change," organized by the Prosecutor General's Office and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, scheduled for November 15 in Baku.

Emphasizing the strong cooperation between the prosecution offices of both countries, Deputy Prosecutor General Yuldashev highlighted the importance of continuing these relations in the future and congratulated Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev on October 1, Azerbaijan's Prosecutors' Day, and the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the prosecution office.
