Jeyhun Bayramov urges EU to approach Azerbaijan, Armenia in keeping with international law

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Latvian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Artis Pabriks on the margins of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his interlocutor on the consequences of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and the scale of damage and destruction of infrastructure in the liberated territories, as well as the situation in the region during the post-conflict period. In this regard, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of the European Union member countries' approach [to the issue] in accordance with international law.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov underscored cooperation with the European Union and important issues on the agenda.

The sides stressed the importance Azerbaijan attaches to the conclusion of the agreement with the European Union.

Defense Minister Artis Pabriks said his country attaches special importance to relations with Azerbaijan and views Azerbaijan as a strategic partner. He noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, stressing its significance.

The sides exchanged views on the events in Ukraine and humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan to overcome the crisis in Ukraine.

The parties also exchanged views on regional and other issues of mutual interest.
