Jeyhun Bayramov thanks OIC for extensive and continuous support to Azerbaijan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the OIC for its support to Azerbaijan during the occupation of Armenia at the annual coordination meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) within the framework of the high-level week of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Report informs, citing the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, that Bayramov made a speech at the meeting held under the chairmanship of Pakistan.

The speech emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan is committed to Islamic solidarity, working towards the eternal Islamic values of peace, tolerance, unity, harmony, and justice for the sake of the development and welfare of humanity: "|OIC, as the main multilateral organization in the Muslim world, is one of the main actors in the protection of international security. Azerbaijan is concerned about the growing instability and conflicts in many parts of the Muslim world."

The contribution of Azerbaijan to multiculturalism and interreligious dialogue and the importance of the Baku Process, which has been operating since 2008, were emphasized in this regard.

Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the OIC for the extensive and continuous support during the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories by Armenia and the post-conflict period. Azerbaijan's steps towards ensuring peace and stability in the region were reported.
