Jeyhun Bayramov: No final agreement yet in peace treaty negotiations with Armenia

There is no final agreement in the negotiations on the peace treaty with Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told journalists, Report informs.

He explained that the draft peace treaty comprises a preamble and 17 articles:

"The texts of the preamble and 15 articles have been fully agreed. We have unresolved questions on two articles. Negotiations on these open questions are currently ongoing. However, it has not been possible to reach an agreement yet."

The minister also highlighted that the Armenian Constitution contains territorial claims against Azerbaijan:

"We expect decisive steps from Armenia in this direction. The arguments recently put forward by the Armenian side cannot satisfy us. Recently, a decision by the Constitutional Court of Armenia has further complicated the issue. The decision stated that the preamble of the Armenian Constitution is immutable. This complicates the situation, as the preamble references the country's act of independence, which violates the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan."
