Jeyhun Bayramov leaves for Türkiye to attend 3+3 ministerial meeting

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has departed for Türkiye to participate in the ministerial meeting of the regional 3+3 platform, Report informs, citing the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The meeting will take place in Istanbul on October 18 with the participation of Turkish, Russian, Iranian and Armenian foreign ministers.

According to the ministry, bilateral meetings are planned as part of the visit.

The foreign ministers of the regional countries will adopt a joint statement following the meeting and hold bilateral talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The 3+3 regional cooperation platform was created on the initiative of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye. However, Georgia refused to participate in this negotiation format.

The first meeting at the level of deputy foreign ministers was held in Moscow, Russia in 2021, and the second meeting at the ministerial level was held in Tehran in 2023.
