Jeyhun Bayramov informs UN official about Armenia's use of foreign terrorists

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office of Counterterrorism Vladimir Voronkov within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and the Counter-Terrorism Committee and exchanged views on joint activities in the fight against terrorism.

Minister Bayramov thanked the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee for its technical support to the relevant agencies of Azerbaijan in the development of Advanced Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Registration (PNR) systems in the country.

FM also informed the other side about Armenia's use of foreign terrorist fighters during the recent aggression against Azerbaijan, noting that members of the Armenian community living abroad make use of non-profit organizations to finance terrorist activities in Azerbaijan's sovereign territories.

Vladimir Voronkov praised Azerbaijan's positive experience in the fight against terrorism and stressed the importance of sharing this practice with other countries.

The sides also exchanged views on regional and international security issues.
