Azerbaijan is taking steps to normalize relations with Armenia and sign a peace treaty, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said in an interview with the Italian news agency Agenzia Nova.
According to him, the position of Azerbaijan has always been to ensure lasting peace, stability, development and progress based on the principles of international law:
"Even when part of our territories was under occupation for about 30 years, Azerbaijan made efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully, through negotiations, participated in the negotiation process for decades. At the current stage, Azerbaijan, having liberated its lands and ensured territorial integrity, comes out from the position of normalizing relations with neighboring Armenia, signing a peace treaty and is taking steps in this direction. We seek to take advantage of all international platforms that can make a real contribution to this goal."
