Jeyhun Bayramov: ‘Azerbaijan offered Armenia a unilateral humanitarian ceasefire’

A meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the special representative of the Russian President for international cultural cooperation, Mikhail Shvydkoy, Report informs, citing the MFA.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the humanitarian and cultural areas of the bilateral cooperation agenda of Azerbaijan and Russia. Moreover, they discussed the implementation of relevant measures on a bilateral and regional basis.

Bayramov also informed the other party about the tension in the region due to provocations by Armenia. He pointed out that Azerbaijan has unilaterally proposed a humanitarian ceasefire to Armenia. He added that Azerbaijan isn’t interested in escalating the situation and destabilization.

Shvydkoy expressed his hope that the clashes will stop. He noted that he is always ready to support the development of cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural fields and support confidence-building measures.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
