Javid Valiyev: Some countries propagate double standards when it comes to international law

During a conference titled "Bonaire’s Pathway from Baku through UN General Assembly to Self Determination", Javid Valiyev, head of the department at the Center for Analysis of International Relations, asserted that some nations continue to propagate double standards when it comes to the fundamental principles of international law.

According to Report, Valiyev emphasized that the people of Bonaire have been fighting for independence for many years.

"The right to self-determination is one of the most crucial principles of international law," he stated. "However, the entire process of decolonization is complicated by Western powers that present themselves as democratic and liberal countries."

"We have gathered here not only to discuss the violations of the fundamental rights of the Bonaire people but also the principles of current international law that are clearly being violated," Valiyev concluded.
