Israeli President Isaac Herzog has expressed his condolences to Azerbaijan following the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane near Aktau, Kazakhstan, Report informs.
“I was very saddened by the terrible tragedy of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane from Baku which has crashed near Aktau this morning. I send my deepest condolences to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the people of Azerbaijan, and the families of all nationalities who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of all those injured,” the president wrote on X.
An AZAL aircraft operating the Baku-Grozny flight crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan. There were 67 people on board, including crew members.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree declaring December 26 as a nationwide day of mourning in response to the incident.
