The international conference on "Addressing the problem of missing persons: upholding 'the right to know' for the families", jointly organized by the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons (State Commission) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has concluded in Baku.
Report informs that panel sessions on four topics were held during the international conference.
These are:
- The issue of missing persons in trust-building, reconciliation, and peace-building processes
- Protecting families' "right to know the truth" and meeting their needs
- Experiences of families of missing persons: identifying and addressing their needs and challenges, areas of cooperation and partnership
- Progress and challenges in searching, recovering, and forensic identification of remains of the missing
After the panel discussions concluded, the final declaration of the conference was adopted.
