An international conference titled "French Neocolonialism Policy in Africa" has begun in Baku, Report informs.
The event is organized with the support of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG). Representatives from African countries, including Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, Niger, France, and the French-administered island of Mayotte, are participating in the conference.
One of the conference participants is the well-known activist Kemi Seba, leader of the NGO "URGENCES PANAFRICANISTES."
Seba is recognized as one of the symbolic leaders of the movement for African independence and sovereignty, actively fighting against neocolonialism. He is also one of the main critics of French neocolonialism.
Seba was born in Strasbourg, France, in 1981. In 2024, the French government revoked Kemi Seba's French citizenship for openly criticizing French authorities for the damage caused to African countries as a result of Paris's colonial policy, and for supporting independence movements in French overseas territories.
French authorities have also arrested Seba several times to force him to abandon his righteous position. In response to the loss of French citizenship, the president of Niger appointed Seba as a special advisor, and several African countries granted him a diplomatic passport.
Seba has 1.3 million followers on Facebook, 370,000 on TikTok, 306,000 on Instagram, 280,000 on X and 230,000 on YouTube.
