The role of official Baku in resolving regional and global conflicts turns Azerbaijan into one of the important partners, political expert Elchin Mirzabayli tells Report.
According to him, the West’s close attention to Azerbaijan is dictated by several reasons. Noting that the most important thing is the commitment of official Baku to its obligations, the expert emphasized the role and importance of Azerbaijan in ensuring the energy security of Europe.
“The approach of official Baku to the processes taking place in the world, based on the principles of humanism, is of great importance in terms of developing relationship with our country. The multi-vector policy of President Ilham Aliyev plays an exceptional role in this matter. We have always been faithful to our partners. Currently, states are looking for reliable partners. In this sense, the increased attention of the West to Azerbaijan is not accidental.”
According to Elchin Mirzabayli, Azerbaijan's fair approach to what is happening in the world further cements the authority of Azerbaijan in the world.
“President Ilham Aliyev visited both countries before the start of the war between Ukraine and Russia. We have demonstrated our impartiality. Along with Turkey, we continue to make our contribution to reducing tensions. As you know, tomorrow Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba will meet in Antalya. I am sure that this achievement is also the merit of our country. We have always respected the territorial integrity of states.”
