Ilham Aliyev, Nikol Pashinyan expected to meet on December 14

A meeting of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan is scheduled to be held on December 14 in Brussels, Report informs.

First, President of the European Council Charles Michel is expected to hold bilateral meetings with the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia. Then, a trilateral meeting is expected to follow.

On November 19, President of the European Council Charles Michel held telephone talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. The European Council president proposed to organize a meeting of the leaders of the two Caucasian countries within the framework of the Eastern Partnership summit to be held on December 15 in Brussels.

The Eastern Partnership program was launched by the EU in 2009. Its main goal is the development of regional cooperation with six countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
