The victory of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) in the recent parliamentary elections is a clear indication of the confidence placed in President Ilham Aliyev, according to Igor Becic, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) from Serbia.
Expressing gratitude to Azerbaijan for facilitating his participation as an observer in the elections to the Milli Majlis (Parliament), Becic stated: "The PABSEC observation mission witnessed the democratic process of elections at various polling stations. During our meeting with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Mazahir Panahov, we noted that citizens were provided with all necessary conditions for voting."
Drawing on the extensive experience of the Serbian parliament, Becic affirmed, "The elections in Azerbaijan were conducted democratically. I congratulate the New Azerbaijan Party on their electoral success, which reflects the trust in President Ilham Aliyev."
Becic also hailed the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia.
