ICMP ready to help mediate missing persons issue between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Azerbaijan is implementing serious measures in resolving the issue of missing persons, the Director General of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), Kathryne Bomberger, said at the international conference held on the topic "Enhancing Cooperation and Advancing Modern Approaches in Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons," Report informs.

According to her, in the context of Azerbaijan, it is evident that this country is carrying out coordinated work at the local level:

"How measures are being taken regarding the problem of missing persons in Azerbaijan, work is being carried out within the legislative framework. Coordination between institutions and families in resolving the issue of missing persons should be further strengthened."

The director stated that the ICMP is ready to contribute to cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia in resolving the issue of missing persons:

"Cooperation in this area during the peace period between the two countries is essential. The ICMP also commends Azerbaijan's efforts in promoting peace."
