Hungarian FM: South Caucasus will be able to produce renewable energy for EU security

The South Caucasus will be able to produce significant amount of renewable energy for the security of the European Union (EU), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó said, Report informs.

Szijjártó said cooperation with Georgia would be "critical" for Europe's energy security in the future: "At the same time,, Hungary can play an important role in attracting renewable energy from the Caucasus to Europe."

Szijjártó added the circumstances made the quadrilateral agreement, signed last year between Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary on building the Black Sea submarine electricity cable to connect the South Caucasus energy grid to Europe, “important”.
