UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Hilal Elver has arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit.
Report informs that on October 2 a meeting was held with a delegation headed by Elver at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Matin Karimli provided detailed information on the successful socio-economic policy pursued in the country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Elver stressed that the structure represented by her is closely and with great interest observing the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in the social sphere, as well as noted the importance of further expansion of relations in the relevant areas, exchange of information and experience.
The meeting also discussed the works that will be done to develop ties in various directions.
Notably, Elver will visit Guba and Ganja as a part of the visit.
Elver's final report on the visit will be submitted to the Human Rights Council in Geneva in March 2020.
