An event on occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was organized at the Cultural Center of the embassy by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy.
According to Report, the event was attended by members of the Italian parliament, officials, sociopolitical figures, representatives of the diplomatic corps, local media and Azerbaijani community.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Rashad Aslanov said at the event that the Khojaly genocide was one of the gravest crimes committed by Armenians against civilians 31 years ago.
The ambassador said that 613 civilians were killed for their ethnic belonging in one night, which is the manifestation of the policy of ethnic cleansing conducted by Armenia.
A photo exhibition on the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was also organized as part of the event.
