Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, has met with a delegation led by Stephen Parkinson, the head of the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Report informs, citing the press service of Azerbaijan’s General Prosecutor’s Office.
During the discussions, Kamran Aliyev emphasized the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the UK, highlighting the historical trade and cultural ties between the two nations. He also spoke about the extensive reforms in Azerbaijan’s prosecutor’s offices, underscoring their role in combating crime and the significance of international cooperation in this area.
Aliyev stressed the importance of exchanging international experiences and facilitating bilateral visits among prosecutor’s office employees.
Additionally, Kamran Aliyev presented a letter of invitation to the guests for a high-level plenary meeting titled “Mobilization of Law Enforcement Agencies for Enhanced Climate Action,” which will be organized by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on November 15 during COP29.
Stephen Parkinson expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and praised the reforms in Azerbaijan’s prosecutor’s offices, as well as the strong relations between the prosecutorial bodies of both countries.
