Hafiz Pashayev: For first time, we commemorate Khojaly victims as a victorious country

Today Azerbaijan is commemorating the victims of the Khojaly genocide - the biggest bloodshed in the history of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.

"Today, 29 years ago, civilians became victims of Armenian atrocities," ADA University Rector Hafiz Pashayev said at a conference on the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, as quoted by Report.

"However, the names of these people have gone down in history. These victims are always remembered by our people. The younger generation should never forget them," he said.

Pashayev added that for the first time, Azerbaijan is commemorating the victims of Khojaly as a victorious country.

"Our glorious army under the command of the President liberated our territories from Armenian occupation. Our victory makes their souls happy," he said.
