Haber Global covers speech by Azerbaijani president criticizing Paris for environmental pollution

Turkish TV channel Haber Global has prepared a report about Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's speech, in which the head of state sharply criticized France for serious environmental pollution in its overseas territories, Report informs.

The report notes that at the COP29 summit in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev accused France of causing serious environmental damage, emphasizing that radiation and chemical pollution in the Polynesian Islands is the result of French nuclear tests.

The TV channel noted that the Azerbaijani leader's statement about Paris's responsibility for these environmental violations caused widespread resonance among international delegates.

Haber Global also paid special attention to the head of state's statements about France conducting nuclear tests in Algeria during the colonial period, causing serious damage to the environment and climate.

The channel reported that the President of Azerbaijan raised the issue of insufficient condemnation of these French actions by the international community. Additionally, the channel noted that Ilham Aliyev focused attention on recent events in New Caledonia. The head of state reminded that Europe, despite the scale of this event, did not condemn it.

Haber Global also covered the head of state's criticism of the European Union and its double standards policy. According to Ilham Aliyev, Josep Borrell's statements about Europe being a "garden" and the rest of the world being a "jungle" are examples of dismissive attitudes toward other countries.
