Haber Global: Azerbaijan expects official apology from Russia over aircraft crash

Azerbaijan expects an official apology from Russia for the plane crash in Aktau, Turkish Haber Global TV said in a segment about the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Aktau on December 25, Report informs.

It also notes that Azerbaijan also expects that those responsible for the incident, which claimed 28 lives, will be brought to account:

"However, the Russian side has not yet taken steps in this direction. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that no assessment would be made until the investigation is completed."

According to Haber Global, the Russian International Civil Aviation Company admitted that Russia's air defense system was activated while the AZAL aircraft was in Grozny airspace.

"It was also admitted that due to thick fog around the airport, the pilot was advised to land in other airports," the segment noted.
