Haber Global: Attack on SOCAR's office in Türkiye is not support for Palestine, but service to imperialism

Attacking SOCAR's office in Türkiye, pretending that there is a connection between the company and Israel, is not support for Palestine, but a service to imperialism, Turkish professors and political scientists commented on the attack on SOCAR's Türkiye office in the program aired on Turkish Haber Global TV, Report informs.

It was noted in the program that the main purpose of the attack on SOCAR's building in Türkiye was to harm the Turkish-Azerbaijani relations.

“The second issue is that SOCAR is a global brand. This is a campaign aimed at tarnishing a world-renowned company of Azerbaijan. The energy lobbies of the world are behind the plan, and SOCAR was deliberately chosen as a target,” the program says.

The program emphasized that the attackers claimed that the company exports oil to Israel via Türkiye: “We know how sensitive people are to the Gaza issue, and if we ask any Turkish citizen what Azerbaijan means to them, they will say ‘it's our soul’. Someone put $3-5 in the pockets of those who attacked the company. Attacking the office of the company in Türkiye, pretending that there is a connection between SOCAR and Israel, is not support for Palestine, but a service to imperialism.”

It was mentioned in the program that the president of Azerbaijan, the country who owns the company and who they accused of supporting Israel, declared that an independent Palestinian state should be established even before the latest Israel-Hamas conflict.

“We advise these young people to do some research on the internet about the countries with which Israel cooperates. Plans for energy cooperation between the United States and Israel have been implemented several times. I wonder why we don't see these people in front of the US embassy. Germany has also signed two energy agreements with Israel in the last five years. This number can be increased, if we mention the names of French, Italian and many global Western companies.”

The participants of the program said that SOCAR, the state company of Azerbaijan, is the last place they could go: “It has nothing to do with Palestine. We know very well on which side President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan have been on this issue since the very first day. People who organize a democratic rally never hide their faces. And they are causing havoc with their eyes closed. Who is behind this is a known issue. We advise you not to follow provocations that call for riots against Azerbaijan.”
