Guadeloupean delegate: BIG conferences raised awareness of colonialism

The establishment of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) and the conferences held on its initiative have created conditions for raising awareness about colonialism, Jose Martin Jean-Pierre, Secretary of the International Decolonization Front (Guadeloupe), said at the international conference "Colonialism: Erasing Religious-National Identity" held in Baku, Report informs.

Jean-Pierre noted that the International Decolonization Front was also formed in Baku:

"The instruments we have acquired allow us to fight colonialism. We believe that the UN can also be our partner in this matter. The relevant UN resolutions recommend increasing efforts to eliminate colonialism. We must support this.

The work done by the BIG should be an example for non-governmental organizations around the world. We must start international mediation. We demand the support of the UN Decolonization Committee in combating colonialism. We must work for a more just world."
