Europe is currently in an existential crisis, Dimitris Avramopoulos, a Greek MP, said at the 12th Global Baku Forum on March 13, Report informs.
Avramopoulos noted that looking at the history of Europe, it seems that there was no unity between the countries of the continent in the past:
“If we cannot get out of the crisis, we will have to live our old history - that is, unity will be broken. The epicenter of the crisis in Europe is changing, because the roles of some countries are changing.”
The speaker assessed the Global Baku Forum as a very important event on a global scale:
“Azerbaijan is moving forward. There should have been a representative of the new US government at this event. Because a representative of China, one of the great powers, is here. Africa should also be here because this continent is one of the new powers that have emerged. And the UN is not as strong as it used to be and is experiencing a very deep crisis.”
