Global Baku Forum discusses challenges of new world economy

Within the framework of the VIII Global Baku Forum, a panel discussion on the topic "New World Economy" was held, Report informs, adding that a panel session moderated by former Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, discussed the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy and its consequences.

The keynote speaker at the “New World Economy” panel is Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Speakers - Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department for Economic Issues and Policy of Innovative Development of the Presidential Administration Shahmar Movsumov, Former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak, Former Prime Minister of Montenegro Igor Luksic, Former Prime Minister of Romania Petre Roman, Former Diplomatic Advisor to the President of Italy Antonio Zanardi Landi and former President of Ecuador Rosalia Arteaga Serrano shared their views on the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, ways to bring global trade out of the crisis.

On November 4, the VIII Global Baku Forum on the theme "The world after COVID-19" is being held under the tutelage of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and with the organization of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center. About 300 guests from more than 40 countries of the world are participating in an international event organized in a hybrid format. Among them are high-ranking representatives, former heads of state and government, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations, politicians, pundits.

The VIII Global Baku Forum will end on November 6.
