Germany spends EUR 1,800,000 to deport Azerbaijani citizens

Since the beginning of 2021, Germany has spent EUR 1,800,000 on the deportation of Azerbaijani citizens.

Report's European bureau informs, citing the German Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, that a greater part of spending was used for charter flights, involvement of police and migration service employees to the process, and the detention and temporary hostel accommodation of persons evading deportation.

The German government spent the most on the deportation of the citizens of Afghanistan. Nearly 20 refuge seekers got to the Kabul airport accompanied by police officers by charter flights to Afghanistan. One mass deportation of this country's citizens took to the federal government around EUR 500,000.

Germany has carried six mass deportations of Azerbaijani citizens since January up to date.
