A new approach to combating climate change is needed, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced speaking at the high-level segment of the 15th Petersberg Climate Dialogue in Berlin.
He noted that Azerbaijan and Brazil, as the chair of COP29 and COP30, have undertaken obligations in this regard.
Scholz welcomed the new form of cooperation between the continents and stressed the importance of mutual support in the fight against climate change.

The German chancellor expressed hope that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Azerbaijan in November of this year, will be as successful as COP28 in Dubai.
Long-term strategies related to green energy are being applied, he said noting that work in this direction proceeds with the use of opportunities of the future.
