Berlin. 31 January. REPORT.AZ/ Report's Berlin Bureau interviews Free Democratic Party spokesman Marcel Luthe.
- Azerbaijan has recently expanded its cooperation with the European Union in bilateral projects. What can you say about prospects of this cooperation?
- Azerbaijan, as one of the most progressive states, has demonstrated a great economic progress in recent years. Relations with the European Union amid economic growth and harmonious legal frameworks are amazing and useful for both sides. This can transform Azerbaijan into an even more important trade partner of the European Union in the Middle East. I think the European countries, especially the German government, are aware of this.
- How do you assess the current state and prospects of the Azerbaijani-German relations? In general, what can be said about the relations between Azerbaijan and Europe in energy and other spheres?
- Unfortunately, German public has not yet sufficiently recognized Azerbaijan as a partner, but I think this issue will find a positive solution in the nearest future. Bilateral interests will play their part in this direction. Azerbaijan will soon become a reliable exporter of natural gas to Germany and Europe. In particular, I think Azerbaijan will play a great role in strengthening the infrastructure with the Southern Gas Corridor.
We believe that in the near future, Azerbaijan will become Europe's crucial and indispensable partner in energy and other projects.
