Azerbaijan marks the 102nd anniversary of independence.

Report.ge prepared a video where Georgian politicians congratulate the friendly country on the day of the Republic, which Georgia is implementing several "projects of the 21st Century."

On May 28, 1918, the National Council of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic declared the country's independence.

It was the first secular Democratic Republic in the Muslim East.

The Declaration of Independence was signed in Tbilisi. According to the document, Azerbaijan established friendly relations with neighboring countries and peoples, and the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic guaranteed civil and political rights to all citizens within its borders, without distinction of nationality, religion, social status or gender.

The founder of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was Mammad Amin Rasulzade.

May 28, 1990, was declared as the Republic Day.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Azerbaijan declared its independence again.
