Georgian political scientist: Azerbaijan intensifying its activities at global level

The holding of the X Global Baku Forum demonstrates that Azerbaijan is stepping up its activities at the regional level and in the international arena, Georgian political scientist Vakhtang Maisaya told Report.

He noted that this forum also shows that serious attention is riveted to Azerbaijan from the international community.

“Very influential representatives of the world community, representatives of the political elite of many countries, including representatives of Georgia, attended such a large-scale event,” Vakhtang Maisaya added.

The political scientist reminded that before the Global Forum, a week earlier, Azerbaijan also hosted a Summit-level Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group in response to COVID-19: “This was a very important event for Azerbaijan, as it allows to further enhance the country’s status at the international level and consolidate its leadership position at the regional level.”

On March 9-11, under the auspices of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the X Global Baku Forum titled “The World of Today: Challenges and Hopes” was held in Baku, organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center. It was attended by 4 presidents, 2 prime ministers, 6 speakers and ministers, heads of 5 UN structures, 25 former presidents, 21 former prime ministers, deputy foreign ministers of 23 countries, a total of 360 representatives from 61 countries.

The forum participants discussed the factors that pose a threat to the new world order, including security issues and prospects for ensuring peace, establishing stability in a divided world, its impact on the global world, ways to solve the challenges facing humanity, conflicts, mega threats that undermine peace, including issues of climate, nuclear and food security, an exchange of views took place on work in the post-pandemic period.
