Georgia has evacuated 114 more nationals from Azerbaijan.
The Georgian citizens were sent home by bus on Wednesday. Among them were teenagers, the elderly, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases and those provided with temporary accommodation, informs the neighboring country’s embassy in Azerbaijan.
The evacuation took place with the support of the embassy and in coordination with the relevant government agencies of Azerbaijan.
Earlier, the Georgian government brought back 160 citizens stranded in Azerbaijan.
All flights to and from Georgia, except for repatriation flights organized by the government for Georgian citizens, have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With few exceptions, Georgia will remain closed to foreign travelers until at least July 1.
As of June 4, health authorities have confirmed 801 cases of COVID-19 in Georgia, including 13 associated deaths.
