Georgia and Azerbaijan to expand humanitarian cooperation

"Georgia and Azerbaijan are planning to expand humanitarian relations," Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, the local Bureau of Report quotes.

According to him, last year, a new Georgian-language school was built in Alibeyli village, Gakh, on the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev initiative: "At present, 160 students study this school. However, the educational institution is designed for 250 students.

The minister said that last year, for the first time in the previous 120 years, a religious rite was performed at a church in the village of Kotuklu, Gakh region. "It proves that Azerbaijan respects Georgian culture and values."

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also said that although the countries approved the humanitarian action plan last year, the timing was changed due to the pandemic. "I hope we will see the results of this cooperation soon."
