Gela Vasadze: Advisable to hold meeting of Azerbaijani, Armenian officials in Georgia

Tbilisi may become a platform for meetings and dialogue between officials, experts and working groups of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze told journalists, Report informs.

He noted that it is not so important where the peace treaty will be signed, the most important thing is that it is signed. This requires a lot of work, Vasadze added.

Chairman of the Board of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) Farid Shafiyev noted that Azerbaijan already put forward a proposal to create a trilateral platform with the participation of the countries of the South Caucasus.

Such a proposal was once made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and the initiative was supported by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. But, according to Shafiyev, there is no response to this proposal from Armenia yet.

The head of the AIR Center noted that Georgia is a place where representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan may meet and hold discussions.

The recent Silk Road Forum, which took place in Tbilisi and was attended by the prime ministers of the three South Caucasus countries, is a good example.
