Gaya Mammadov presents his credentials to NATO Secretary General

Baku. 29 November. REPORT.AZ/ The head of the Azerbaijani delegation to NATO Gaya Mammadov has presented his credentials to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at NATO Headquarters, Report informs citing the Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in NATO. During the meeting, the Head of the Delegation, Mammadov, conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Secretary General. The sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and NATO, as well as regional security issues.

Mammadov briefed on the peace process on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and noted that the final statement of NATO's recent Brussels summit reinforced Azerbaijan's position on the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Azerbaijan and stressed the appreciation of solving this conflict on the basis of these principles.

NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, in his turn, asked to convey his greetings to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and expressed his satisfaction with the current level of Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation. The Secretary General called Azerbaijan a reliable partner of the Alliance and thanked Azerbaijan for contributions to Resolute Support Mission of NATO in Afghanistan as well as NATO-run Afghan National Army (ANA) Trust Fund.
