Fuad Huseynaliyev: Best result for Baku and Yerevan - achieving peace without participation of third party

The best outcome for Azerbaijan and Armenia is to reach a peace treaty without the participation of third parties, Fuad Huseynaliyev, director of the Report Information Agency, said on the air of the CBC TV Channel.

"Recently, the activity of many mediators, such as Russia, the United States, and Brussels, in the peace process has increased significantly, and everyone wants to become a leading force in this," he noted.

According to Huseynaliyev, those participating as mediators in the negotiation process mostly pursue their own interests, which may not coincide with the interests of Azerbaijan: "In this regard, Tbilisi can be the most convenient platform since achieving overall peace in the region is important for Tbilisi."

Huseynaliyev emphasized that holding the Azerbaijani Cup round of 16 at the Khankandi stadium is a significant event:

"There are citizens who have not been able to go to their native land for 30 years. I think there will be people who want to participate in the further development of this place, along with the people who lived there before the occupation. The fact that Qarabag played there today is symbolic. This is the Aghdam Club. But his home stadium, Imarat, was completely destroyed. Holding a football match in the land of Karabakh is of great importance. After the development of Aghdam, FC Qarabag will move to its permanent place and will represent Azerbaijan in the international arena again."
