National leader Heydar Aliyev was a reformer and a just person, political scientist Fuad Akhundov said during the round table "Heydar Aliyev: his role in the development of the USSR and Russia" in Moscow, Report informs.
According to Fuad Akhundov, Heydar Aliyev was the only person under whose supervision other ministries and ministers wanted to be: "Usually curators are not very friendly, but the ministers understood that Aliyev would solve their problems."
The political scientist also noted the important role of Heydar Aliyev in the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. According to him, when an error occurred in the design of the line, many engineers were afraid to report it to Moscow, and the only step was to tell Heydar Aliyev about it.
"Heydar Aliyev eventually resolved this issue, the route was changed and the efficiency of the Baikal-Amur Mainline was increased. If the project had been built as before, there would have been multi-billion losses," Akhundov added.
