French, German envoys support dialogue between youth of Azerbaijan, Armenia

Ten young people from Azerbaijan will visit Strasbourg from June 6 to 10 within the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ) program, where they will meet and discuss prospects for cooperation with young people from Germany, France and Armenia, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zacharie Gross said at a meeting with them on June 3, Report informs.

“This is our joint initiative - the program “New Directions of Cooperation within the Eastern Partnership of the European Union” - with the German Embassy. Of course, we support the process of restoring relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We are glad to see the aspiration of Azerbaijani youth for peace,” the French ambassador said.

The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan is rebuilding cities in its liberated territories for peaceful life.

“We are interested in seeing this region as stable and peaceful,” Gross stressed.

In turn, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Wolfgang Manig also noted the importance of contacts between youth and public activists of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“We think that it is necessary and very important to discuss the prospects for a common future in the region. We believe in peaceful coexistence and the peaceful restoration of relations between countries and support this,” Manig said.
