Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey hold meeting

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu within the framework of the 7th meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS).

Report informs citing the Foreign Ministry that the sides expressed satisfaction with the development of fraternal and strategic alliance between the two countries.

The Ministers stressed the importance of cooperation based on strategic partnership, good neighborliness, mutual respect and trust in terms of promoting regional and global stability and security.

The sides exchanged views on important projects with the participation of both countries. It was noted that regional projects implemented at the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan and Turkey will facilitate competitive transportation between Asia and Europe.

There was extensive discussion on the situation around the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, as well as the processes taking place in the Middle East, and it was emphasized the importance of policies pursued by both countries to ensure their security.

The sides exchanged views on cooperation within the CCTS and other international organizations, as well as regional and global issues of mutual interest.
