Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Pakistan to moot opportunities for expanding cooperation

The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Azerbaijan will discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation in oil and gas, agriculture, railways, and education.

The statement came from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.

"Azerbaijan is a crucial country in the South Caucasus and a long-time friend and partner of Pakistan. The countries have good relations based on historical, religious, and cultural ties.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry's statement also stressed Azerbaijan's position on the Kashmir issue: "Azerbaijan, as a member of the Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, strongly supports the just and legitimate cause of the Kashmir people."

Moreover, it was noted that this would be the first visit of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to Pakistan since 2010.
