Foreign minister: Good opportunities for normalization of relations between regional countries created after war

Good opportunities have appeared for the normalization of relations between the countries of the region after the Second Karabakh War and the liberation of Azerbaijani lands, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said in an interview with Anadolu Agency, as quoted by Report.

"Azerbaijan has expressed its support for the normalization of the Turkiye-Armenia relations at the highest level. We view the appointment of special representatives of Turkiye and Armenia and their three meetings very positively. This is one of the positive messages of Turkiye and Azerbaijan towards Armenia. Azerbaijan openly says to Armenia, 'We have no problems with Armenia. We support building normal neighborly relations with Armenia," the foreign minister said.

Touching upon the energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, Bayramov said that Azerbaijan invested $19 billion in Turkiye, including $17 billion in the energy sector.

"With the cooperation and potential of Azerbaijan and Turkiye, there are opportunities to produce additional natural gas for the European market. The successful energy strategy established here for many years is bearing fruit. Today, countries are applying for additional natural gas volumes. These infrastructure projects have been implemented in the past, overcoming great difficulties. Because in the past, when those decisions were made, there was a lot of resistance and difficulties when passing through the territory of many countries. However, they have been overcome, and projects have been implemented. Thanks to this, there are opportunities for the development of the economies of Turkiye and Azerbaijan, the improvement of the welfare of our peoples, and the opportunity to help other neighboring countries in this crisis."
