The statements of Isobel Coleman, the deputy administrator of the US International Development Agency, are disrespectful to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said, Report informs.
Bayramov made the remark at the meeting with Joshua Huck, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
The minister highlighted that despite the efforts to create positive dynamics in bilateral relations and define cooperation perspectives, the biased opinions of some US officials have a negative impact on bilateral relations:
“In this context, the remarks against Azerbaijan made by Isobel Coleman, the deputy administrator of the US International Development Agency, at the Armenian Embassy in the United States on September 16, are seen as disrespectful to Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. These statements are perceived as attempts to distort the facts regarding the anti-terrorist measures that ended the illegal presence of Armenian Armed Forces in our country’s sovereign territories.”
